Joanne Boyle’s work can be thought of as an inter-related practice whose enquiry is dictated by a desire to explore the meditative aspects of consciousness. Boyle uses paint, sculpture, drawing and movement as her practice. Colour plays an important role in this enquiry. The dominance of the colour black in recent works explores the idea of infinity, eternity and the deep element of mystery that this colour evokes.
